Afraid of Monsters: Dark Assistance is a cancelled horror mod for Half-Life, developed by Team Psykskallar.
On the 29th of December 2014, Andreas "ruMpel" Rönnberg posted on the official Afraid of Monsters Facebook page that he and his two partners (James and Kopter) are redoing Afraid of Monsters: Director's Cut where they will be adding a co-op element into the game. He stated that it would have most music remade, and many other things remade, mainly weapons and characters, it was not exactly a remake, or a HD remake for the matter. He also stated that he planned on getting it green-lit as a standalone game on Steam, for free.
On his Afraid of Monsters Facebook account, Rönnberg uploaded several screenshots of Dark Assistance's development.
On the 12th of February 2016, Rönnberg announced on the official Afraid of Monsters Facebook page that the mod has been cancelled as it serves no purpose to release Afraid of Monsters as co-op when Sven Co-op already provides this. He states it will be better for him and James to focus on something else such as a completely new game or possibly even a complete remake of Afraid of Monsters. At the moment he has no plans, and is only experimenting with what he and his team can create, so only time and the future will tell where they will end up.
