A Tape Recorder is a mechanic in Cry of Fear. It serves the function of allowing players to save their progress, with each one having five save slots.
Overview[]
The tape recorders can be found throughout the entirety of Cry of Fear, often spaced apart throughout levels to increase the difficulty level. In Nightmare Mode the player would need the cassette tape in order to save, not only that the player will only be able to save 5 times throughout the entire game.
